  11. I followed the work of the Numerical C Extensions Group for a while,
  12. but then moved into different areas.  Now I need to move back again
  13. (such is life in a university computing service!)  Please can anyone
  14. fill me in with a few pointers to the current state and/or activities
  15. in this area?

  17. My particular interest (now, as distinct from then) is in extensions
  18. to C to allow efficient vectorisation on machines like the Cray YMP.
  19. Please note that I am interested in the de jure and de facto standards
  20. activities, and NOT in the fact that any particular vendor has a super
  21. efficient compiler or a pet variant of C!
